The media industry in most countries is an oligopoly. A handful of big companies dominate the market operating under multiple brands. As a result, they all seem to say the same all the time. Because of the concentration investigative journalism and critical analysis of most things is sadly missing in the media. Recently there has much drama over fake news in the social media site such as Facebook. The “real” fake news actually exists not in the social media but in the mainstream media(MSM). So when MSM blames the social media on fake news it kind of implies that the real news is reported only the MSM. This irony is understood by people who are able to question things critically as opposed to simply swallowing planted marketing stories as news or facts.
